Why does that first step seem so difficult?

There are many valid reasons to postpone a new healthy living plan. You may be experiencing one or more of them right now. Work, school, family…I mean really, what’s the difference between starting today or Monday, right? In the short term, probably not much. But those days sure do add up. Next thing you know, eight months have passed and you’re ten pounds heavier.

Here’s a little inspiration to get the wheels rolling:

  1. You are one decision away from turning this around.
    Chances are you will get hungry sometime today. What you choose to eat moves you forward or holds you back. The choice is yours.
  2. Luck or magic is not necessary—your body is waiting to respond at any age.
    There is no secret to losing weight, but there is strategy that requires preparation. You are never too old or too young.
  3. You’ve overcome adversity before, so do it again.
    Sometimes we forget the struggles we’ve faced and how we came out the other side. Take a moment to acknowledge the stronger part of yourself.
  4. Millions of people will lose weight and get in shape this year—you should join them.
     People just like you will change their lives this year. Which team do you want to be on?
  5. After just one workout, you will lower your blood sugar, improve your hormone efficiency, and boost your metabolism.
    It’s amazing how quickly your body will start to return to a healthier state when given the opportunity. You might just surprise yourself.
  6. Fast food, ice cream, and sweetened coffee drinks topped with whipped cream are not going anywhere—so feel free to skip them today.
    All your favorite foods and restaurants will be open tomorrow. There is no shortage. So why not try something new today? You can always go back.
  7. You’ll never be this young again, so use your body while it’s working.
    The best time to start living a healthy lifestyle is twenty years ago. The second best time is today. Use what you have and start where you are.
  8. A gym membership or a personal trainer is not needed to get an incredible workout—your living room or the park down the street will do the job.
    It’s easy to forget that you can create an amazing workout with little or no equipment. A walk around the block is always free. So get moving!
  9. There are more resources available today than ever before—be grateful and use them.
    It’s not necessary to know everything. There are workout programs, inspirational stories, and menu plans. It’s all out there for you to use.
  10. Don’t worry about figuring everything out or coming up with the perfect plan—do one thing today to better yourself. Small efforts will be rewarded.
    Drop the quest for perfection and focus on action. You don’t need to figure everything our today or change everything overnight.

So there you have it—ten reasons to get started on your new healthy living plan today. But really, you only need one reason: you. You are that important, and you are worth it.
